Web Development work.

When I first started designing web pages the common practice was to open a basic write program and type the code. In those days I was working at a university and our web browser was a text based only program Lynx, pre-dating Mosaic. We used programs such as Gopher, Archie and Usenet. Even when Mosaic came along the web pages were still very basic. They didn't need to look good, just provide the information. All this was before html 2.0

Today I sometimes use webpage design tools, but most of the time I use wordpad (like now). Don't get me wrong, there are some good tools out there like NVU and CoffeeCup HTML editor. Both of these are free and easy to use. I've tried FrontPage 2003 (a licenced copy on a friend's machine) but I can't see the need to pay for something that doesn't give me anything I need when I can get a program that does just what I need for free. You even have to buy the demo (75 days) of FrontPage.

My current projects are totally my own, and I have developed them from scratch :

As you can see, there is a big emfersis on education sites. This is because my children go to these schools and I do it for free.
If any company wanted to employ my services as web developer and maintainer, I would be interested.

While developing webpages and web buttons I have visited a fair number of sites.
Take a look at my favourite sites.
